This week youth learned all about communication, including the importance of non-verbal communication, how to communicate respectfully with all individuals, and active listening.  They also completed Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act training which taught them more about providing excellent customer service to individuals with a variety of disabilities.  Youth worked on their programming and implementation skills when they worked as a group to plan fun and interactive activities for our day of action at Community Living Burlington.  They had to improvise to tailor these activities to participants needs and interests and all did a great job!  Youth also followed instructions while making rice krispie squares and trail mix.  Youth used their gardening skills to weed, transport soil, and plant flowers and vegetables into Community Living Burlington’s accessible community garden.  Lastly, youth used their creative and painting skills to beautifully decorate a rain barrel for the garden.
